Your enjoyment of The Bite and Brew of Salem means more than just a great time. It means the continuation of support for key youth programs in our own home town. For the past 17 years, the South Salem Rotary has used the proceeds of this event to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars to youth programs right here at home.
Primary beneficiaries are the seven Boys and Girls Clubs of Marion and Polk counties. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Marion and Polk counties reach kids the kids most in need of community support; at a time when they most need that help – over 900 each day. That means 900 kids engaged with professionally delivered programs in Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, Education & Career Development, the Arts, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. Last year alone, more than 13,600 kids were served.
The Bite and Brew also raises significant monies for many other Salem important non-profits. Beside the Boys & Girls Club, past recipients include Sprague High School collage scholarships, South Salem High School, McKinley Grade School, Candalaria Grade School, Family Building Blocks, SMART, Walton Guest House, Meals-on-Wheels, Mission Mill Museum, Salem Art Association, Hospice, Mother Oaks Child, YMCA, YWCA, Young Life, AC Gilbert Discovery Village, Salem's Riverfront Park Carousel, and so many others.
From all of us involved in the Bite and Brew of Salem, thank you so much for your support.
